Methodology

BrokerPays publishes the partner terms of brokers — affiliate, introducing broker (IB), regional partner and white-label programs. This page explains where every value comes from and how it is checked.

A passport for every value

No value is published without a passport:

Layers of data

LayerWhat it is
AutoCollected by our crawler from the broker’s own website or published documents
ManualEntered by our team from a document: an agreement, a partner-cabinet page, a written reply from the broker. Each manual value has an evidence file
PartnerConfirmed by partners with evidence (published from stage 2)
Open sourceRegulator registers, warning lists, public review sites
Third-party sourceA value found on another website (partner-programme review, directory, publication) when the broker does not publish it. Always labelled “3rd-party”, with link, page date and quote. Shown only when the broker gives no value and replaced as soon as the broker publishes one; not counted in data completeness or broker readiness

Three numbers instead of “up to”

Brokers often publish only a maximum (“up to $15 per lot”). We store rates separately as base (entry tier), typical (default for a standard partner, when published) and maximum (with its conditions). When a broker publishes only the maximum, the other two are shown as Not published.

“Not published” is a fact

When a source does not state a value, we record that, with the date of the check. It tells you what the broker does not disclose, and it separates a checked absence from missing data.

Comparable units

How data is collected and updated

  1. A registry lists the sources of every broker: partner pages in all language versions, terms documents, regulation pages.
  2. Every week our crawler takes a snapshot of each source (page text, screenshot, PDF). Snapshots are archived and never deleted.
  3. Values are extracted from the snapshot text. Every extracted value must come with a quote, and the quote is checked mechanically against the snapshot. A value without a matching quote is never published automatically.
  4. New values are compared with the published ones. Changes of rates, CPA, revenue share and payout terms are reviewed by a person before publication.
  5. Every published change appears in the change log.
  6. A value whose source has not been checked successfully for more than 45 days is marked Needs check.

Conflicts between layers

If a value entered by our team differs from what the broker’s website shows, the newer check decides: a manual check made after the crawl wins; if the website changed after the manual check, the website value is shown with the mark Discrepancy until it is re-checked.

Reliability of brokers

For every broker we show its licences, each checked in the regulator’s public register with the date of the check; warnings found in the IOSCO I-SCAN service and national warning lists; and public review scores with links and dates. We do not combine these into a single score in stage 1.

Independence

Numbers do not change for money or relationships, and every number has a passport. The order in tables is set only by the filters and sorting you choose. There are two exceptions, both always marked where they appear and listed under “Current disclosures” below: one featured broker, and referral links on program pages. There are no other paid or featured placements.

One broker — the project partner — is shown first: a card on the home page, pinned rows above the programs table, the first row of the broker list and a side block on program pages of other brokers. The pinned rows follow your filters: if the broker does not match them (for example, it does not accept partners from your country), it is not shown. In the table itself the broker keeps its place by sorting.

Featuring changes presentation, not data. The featured broker’s values are collected and checked by the same rules; the order and data of other brokers, column sorting and the change log are the same for everyone. It is not featured on reliability pages or in the change log. There is only one featured broker, and featured placements are not sold to other brokers.

On a program page, the “How to join” block has one button to the broker’s program. Behind it there may be a BrokerPays referral link — only when all of the following hold: we have a signed agreement with the broker; the broker pays BrokerPays on top (or only tags the source), so the partner’s own terms are exactly the same as with a direct sign-up; BrokerPays does not see the partner’s detailed statistics; the terms were checked against the agreement in the last 180 days; and the link works and stays on the broker’s official domain. Otherwise the button leads to the broker’s official page without any code. Programs where the button carries our code are listed under “Current disclosures” below. A referral link never affects order, filters or whether a broker is listed. There are no referral links in tables, comparisons, reliability pages or the change log, and no links to open trading accounts anywhere.

Corrections

Anyone — partners and brokers — can report a discrepancy from any program page. We check it against the source and correct it within 48 hours or explain why not.
